A continuation of k-on manga will start on April this year. The said manga will be split in two version the 1st version focuses on yui, mugi, ritsu and mio while they begin their life in college and the 2nd version focuses on Ui's and the others as the new member of the Light Music Club.

well it's still the manga, but knowing that the manga will continue, theres a high possibility that it will be animated because of its popularity.
